Best Food for Healthy Skin

We all want that perfect skin, but few of us have it. As our largest organ, our skin offers protection from germs and outside contaminants. It reveals our inner health. We can eat and drink our way towards better skin without the use of serums, creams, and makeup. The foods that are found to be beneficial for the skins are fresh produce that can be found at our local farmers’ markets or grocery stores.

  • Water
  • It is the most important for healthy skin. The daily recommendation is at least 8 glasses. Stay hydrated to plump up skin.

  • Green Tea

  • Cocoa flavanols has antioxidant properties.

  • Carrots
  • High in carotenoid. Gives skin a natural glow.

  • Tomatoes
  • Get protection from the sun’s damaging rays by eating more tomatoes. Lycopene enhances the skin’s SPF. It does not replace sunscreen.

  • Monounsaturated fat good for the body, gives a youthful look. It’s antioxidant properties may guard against free radicals and cancer.

  • Red wine
  • Antioxidant and anti-cancer properties.
